27th September 2012BRIDPORT: It's time to brew up for Macmillan
A RESTAURANT in Burton Bradstock and a tea room in West Bay are joining eateries across the nation to make the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Day’ in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The owners of the two establishments are hoping to smash last year’s sum which raised over £10 million around the world.
Sue and Peter Marks of West Bay Tea Rooms will donate 50p from every cup of coffee and pot of tea sold throughout the day and encourage customers to purchase one of their homemade cake pops to raise money for the charity.
Meanwhile, at the Hive Beach Cafe in Burton Bradstock, Melanie Attrill – cake and dessert maker for both the Hive and the Watch House in West Bay – will be on hand to share hints and tips while tempting visitors to stock up on homemade cakes.
There will also be competitions including guess the weight of the fruit cake, name the bear, how many jelly beans in the jar and much more, with all proceeds going to MacMillan.
The events take place on September 28th. For further information and to make a personal donation visit Macmillan Cancer Support’s website: www.macmillan.org.uk
