27th September 2012BRIDPORT: New season for camera club
BRIDPORT Camera Club has launched a new season with a series of photographic shows.
Founder member David Barnikle and Sheena O’Donoghu shared a presentation of images they captured of their 15 day trip to Iceland in June, where they had ‘chased waterfalls’.
They also captured turf buildings, acres of lupins, magnificent mountains and moss-covered terrain .
Sheena also informed the audience of the teasing she had been subjected to when the five men on the expedition joked that a collection of well ‘used’, straw-filled sheep barns had been booked for their sleeping quarters.
Charlie Wheeler then amused the audience with photographs taken during a six week visit to Botswana and Tuli, the African Conservation Experience, where volunteers study and record wildlife, monitor elephants and undertake habitat restoration.
Charles Hallsworth also demonstrated how to prepare both print and digital images for submission to club competitions and announced his fortnightly sessions on editing images and camera use.
The club next meets on October 3rd at 7:30pm at the Masonic Hall, when host Guy Edwardes will present his latest images.
Tickets are available through The Book Shop, Pinns, Bridport Music, Fruits of the Earth and Waterstones.
