BRIDPORT: Help with finding your own personal history

TRACE your family tree, look back at old photos and find out more about the place you call home at Bridport Local History Centre this weekend.

The centre will be opening its doors this Saturday, October 15th, between 10am and 3pm to highlight what it has to offer.

Visitors can try researching their family tree using the centre’s subscription to Ancestry.com and volunteers can provide help and advice on how to find people.

You will also be able to trace the history of your house using old maps, flick through an extensive photographic collection and read reams of information on the town and local villages.

There will also be a calligraphy demonstration from Fiona Graham Flynn.

The Local History Centre is in Gundry Lane, off South Street. For more information visit www.bridportmuseum.co.uk, or phone 01308 458703.
