HONITON: Honiton joins Transition Town movement

A HONITON councilor is hoping the town will be one of the latest to join the “Transition Town” movement.

Honiton councillor Sharon Pavey will be chairing the inaugural meeting of Honiton Transition Town, where representatives from other local transition towns, and representatives of the council will discuss what can be done to tackle climate issues at a local level.

The Transition movement is a national movement, which aims to support community-led responses to climate change and shrinking supplies of cheap energy.

The first Honiton Transition Town meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 28th, 7.30pm at Montgomery’s, Honiton High Street.

Everyone is welcome to go along and find out more about the transition town movement.

For more information about Honiton Transition Town contact Councillor Sharon Pavey on 07740973990 or visit www.transitionnetwork.org
