BRIDPORT: Dennis the Mennace pays a visit

CHILDREN’S favourite Dennis the Menace will visit Bridport on his tour of the Westcountry this Friday, raising money for Mencap.

A toy replica of the comic book star will visit Bridport, where he will be taken on a tandem bike ride around the town before visiting UK llamas at the Co-operative supermarket.

Staff at Britannia Building Society, part of the Co-operative group, have arranged the Bridport leg of the journey. They were tasked with finding an unusual way for “Dennis” to spend his time in the town. They have been lent a tandem bike for the afternoon by bike shop Revolutions to take “Dennis” to West Bay before bringing him to the Co-op store where he will go shopping before meeting some real life llamas.

The llamas will be in the Co-op supermarket car park from 2:30pm to 3:30pm before “Dennis” sets off for his next stop in Crewkerne.

A collection will be made on the day for the Mencap charity, the Co-operative charity of the year.
