BRIDPORT: Protester no show at Pagan meeting

A PAGAN moot in Bridport last week went ahead without any trouble after a planned Christian demonstration never materialised.

A new Christian movement, known as Christian Soldiers Dorset, had planned to protest outside the pagan moot last Tuesday in an attempt to warn people about the “dangers” of the occult.

After hearing the news supporters of the pagan group showed their support with around 30 people attending the meeting, three times the usual number, which was held at The George.

Despite the Christian group announcing to the press they expected “a high turn out” no one showed up at the venue on the night.

Organiser of the Pagan Moot, Adam Marlborough, said: “I’m glad it was peaceful and we had no problems. I’d like to thank people for coming along, it was a good showing of solidarity from across Dorset.”

The group held a charity raffle on the night to raise money for Dorset County Hospital’s Kingfisher Ward.

The View from has been unable to contact the Christian Soldiers Dorset group.
