4th October 2012DORCHESTER: College promises fruity fun
Don’t get the pip – Kingston Maurward’s Apple and Garden Day is being held this Saturday, October 6th.
The college is promising that the day will be the fruitiest event of the year!
From 10am-4pm visitors can expect a day of autumn activities including practical demonstrations, trade stands, children’s competitions and tractor and trailer rides.
Experts from the Royal Horticultural Society will be available to identify unknown apples and to provide advice.
A large colourful apple display with harvest fruits and vegetables will provide a focus for the event.
The popular cake baking competition returns for its second year where visitors are encouraged to bring homemade cakes to be judged by gastronomic experts.
Entrants can use their own recipe or go to www.morekmc.com for a Kingston Maurward apple cake recipe. (Entries must be in by 9.30am on the day of the competition).
Seasonal snacks and drinks will be available all day from Kingston Maurward’s own Coach House Cafe.
The event also offers the chance to sign up for autumn season college courses, and to look at information and new prospectuses which will be available to browse and take home.
Tickets cost just £4 and include access to the Gardens and Animal Park.
