14th August 2012SIDMOUTH: Lions club donation to diabetes project DIRECT after River Sid duck race
Sidmouth Lions have donated £1,410 to DIRECT, the Exeter based diabetes research project, which is operated by Peninsula Medical School Foundation.
The sum represents just over half of the proceeds from their main yellow duck race, which took place last month on the River Sid.
The remaining proceeds from the yellow duck race will be used to support Sidmouth Lions local charity and community service activities.
The presentation to DIRECT took place outside Sidmouth's Anchor Inn, where the Lions have their regular meetings. The cheque was presented to DIRECT fundraising manager, Ben Norman by Lions Club President Graham Rossiter, accompanied by Lions secretary, Roger Keylock.
Mr Norman said: “We are enormously grateful to the Sidmouth Lions Club for their very generous donation which will be used to support our world-leading research
