LYME REGIS: Social night and training for volunteers

THERE are now less than three weeks to go before the iconic Cobb harbour is illuminated with 5,000 candles.

Supporters and volunteers who have expressed an interest in helping with this year’s event are invited to Lyme Regis Power Boat Club for a pre-event social night on Friday, August 17th, starting at 8pm. We have a few plastic beakers which need the bottoms cut off and we need some help putting together the “candle kits” for the lighting teams.

Also to remind you that there is a training night being held on Tuesday, August 21st. All volunteers to meet by the harbourmaster’s office at 7.30pm.

Candles on the Cobb t-shirts are on sale at Alice's Bear Shop and at the The Slipway at a price of £6 each - buy your t-shirt while stocks last! Don't forget also to buy your candle certificates from many outlets in the town or online at www.candlesonthecobb.org

There will be another Candles on the Cobb Quiz Night on Wednesday, August 15th at the Nag’s Head, starting at 8pm. Teams of six can enter - all welcome!
