25th July 2012MUSBURY: Fun, food and friends at Trill summer festival
A long weekend in Devon. A few hundred people. Rolling fields and ancient woodland. An abundance of ideas, fun, food and friends.
The outdoor festival has long been a celebrated part of British summer. In our increasingly commercial world, many people are now rediscovering the joys and benefits of more local, less crowded and blessedly sponsor-free events.
Trill Summer Festival is one of this new breed of unashamedly small and non-commercial events, its heart firmly rooted in the native, natural pleasures to be found in its immediate surroundings. Each day of the Festival offers a host of activities ranging from inspiring speakers and creative workshops to outdoor adventures and marvellous music. There'll be a strong focus on biodiversity, sustainability, eco-energy, environment and local food.
And, as you would expect from an organic farm with its own chef in residence, the food is superb... delicious and nutritious, wild-harvested, from the farm or locally sourced.
If this all sounds a bit too civilised for the more seasoned festival-goer, fear not. Come sundown, special guests will bring each day to a rousing, celebratory end with music, dancing and other nocturnal delights. Revellers still unwilling to retire to their tents can then sit out under the stars, enjoying the camp-fire.
The Trill Summer Festival takes place from Thursday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 5th at Trill Farm, Musbury.
Tickets are available from £25 (£12.50 for kids) and are available online at www.trillsummerfestival.co.uk or by email [email protected]. For more details call 01297 63113.
