BRIDPORT: Sheds washed away

GARDENERS had mixed fortunes when water flooded allotments off Princess Road.

Garden sheds and greenhouses were swept away as several feet of water flooded into the allotments.

But some lucky residents found their plants relatively unharmed when they surveyed the damage on Sunday morning.

The allotments at St Mary’s playing field and the adjoining play area were swamped when the River Brit broke its banks when a month’s worth of rain fell in just 24 hours on July 7th.
