6th July 2012CREWKERNE: Helping make Crewkerne a better place
ALL are invited to the annual general meeting of A Better Crewkerne and District (ABCD) to find out how they could make Crewkerne a better place to live.
ABCD is a registered charity that was set up to help make Crewkerne and the surrounding area a better place to live and work. Over the past few years ABCD has worked with a variety of organisations to bring about a wide array of improvements to the town. These have included the George Reynolds Centre; the new sports, youth and children’s facility currently being built at Henhayes; promoting Crewkerne in a marketing project to encourage more visitors to the area; the pedestrian link connecting Falkland Square to the George Shopping Precinct; and Crewkerne Showcase - an exhibition highlighting the business and community sector in the area.
The next six months will be an important period for ABCD as it consults with residents to update the Community Plan for Crewkerne & District. The results of the consultation will provide the focus for future ABCD projects.
The AGM will also include elections to the executive committee. Anyone interested in joining the committee should notify the secretary Diane Butler by Tuesday, July 17th in writing to ABCD c/o Diane Butler, Crewkerne Town Hall, Market Square, Crewkerne, TA18 7LN.
The AGM will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, July 24th in the Heritage Centre, East Street, Crewkerne.
