DORCHESTER: DurnoVibe '12

Three diverse musical performances are being held in Dorchester as part of the DurnoVibe ’12 event.

The performances will raise money for Parkinson’s and the Cavernoma Alliance, which was started as a national charity by Dorchester man Dr Ian Stuart.

Ian is working with local musician Rick  Birley, who has Parkinson’s, to stage the three events.

The first will be a gig in the Corn Exchange on Friday, May 11th featuring local bands The Crack, Jess Upton and the Guilty Pleasures and Hustle from 8pm.

On Saturday night the tempo changes for an Occasional Singers concert in St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm and then a Sung Eucharist, also featuring the Singers,  in St Peter’s on Sunday, 13th at 10.30am.

The events will also be in memory of Carol Milner, who was involved with a similar event in 2009, and died in January 2010 from cancer.

Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Trinity Street.
