SNAPPERS from three photography clubs met to share their images during their annual meeting.
Beaminster and District Camera Club, Bridport Camera Club and Lyme Bay Photographic Society members heard eight varied presentations illustrated by digitally projected images.
The proceeds from a bumper raffle was used to pay for the hire of Bridport’s Masonic where the meeting took place earlier this month.
Beaminster’s Christa Bott talked about a recent trip to Namibia emphasising the brilliant landscape colours and fellow club member Harold Jenkins showed shots of a holiday in Polynesian Easter Island featuring the famous Maoi volcanic stone statues.
Chris Hilton exhibited an eclectic group of pictures taken in a “shot a day” 12 week challenge – with some pictures taken with a camera dating back to 1932.
Dave Charnick and Joan Hickinbottom, also from the Beaminster club, presented portrait and action photography of their different passions in life.
In a two part talk, Lyme Bay snapper Jennifer Hollands covered the history and recent major work on the sea defences and buildings of the Lyme Regis seafront.
Garry Hayball from the Bridport club showed colourful and often psychedelic images which had been produced using mainly the “glowing edges” filter in Adobe Photoshop.
Charles Hallsworth also gave a talk about his technique using black and white film to capture images which were subsequently handled in the computer, resulting in a different “atmosphere”.
