LYME REGIS: Netball success

THE Woodroffe School Year 10 girls’ netball team hit the jackpot after scoring 72 goals in the recent South West Dorset area netball tournament. 

They won the tournament in convincing style conceding just five goals.

Team coach and PE teacher Sharron Hutchings said: “They were in fantastic form with the shooters playing exceptionally well. The team now qualifies for the County Finals at Leweston later this month.”

The girls are the third Woodroffe netball team this year to qualify for the County Finals - Years 9 and 11 also managed to do so. Year 9 are currently ranked 6th in county and Year 11 are 8th.

The Year 10 team was as follows: Tori Forster, Phoebe Confrey, Abi Dare, Emma Murray, Daisy Day, Lydia Clapp (Captain), Lucy Pearson and Ellie Gillan.
