CHARMOUTH: Plans for jubilee baskets in Charmouth

RESIDENTS of The Street in Charmouth are being asked to “adopt” a hanging basket and look after it as part of the village’s celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.

Residents have been asked if they will look after the baskets, to be hung from lamposts on Charmouth’s main street, outside their properties. They have also been asked that red, white and blue flowers be planted to mark the Queen’s Jubilee year.

Plans for hanging basktes in The Street have been discussed for several years but the old lamposts would not have supported their weight. Charmouth Parish Council paid extra money for the village’s new lamposts suitable to hold Christmas lights and hanging baskets. The council has also offered to pay for the brackets needed to hang the baskets from.

Residents from The Street who would be willing to look after a basket should contact Peter Noel on 01297 560078.
