BEAMINSTER: Netball champs
Beaminster School girls are double netball champions, with two teams coming top in the South West Dorset netball tournament. The year 7 and year 8 teams saw off competition from Budmouth School, Wey Valley, All Saints, Dorchester Middle School, St Osmunds and Woodroffe to triumph in their competitions.
The girls will now go on to represent the school at the county competition. PE teacher Rachel Randall said: “The girls have worked hard this year, training on a weekly basis since September and the teams are now looking forward to facing the challenge of the county tournament, when they will be taking on Dorset’s best.” Year 7 team:Alice Crocker, Chloe Diment, Sarah Allen, Beth Mears, Louisa Fleming, Esme Wardle, Ella Lane, Emma Bishop. Year 8 team: Eliza Crocker, Jess Hallett, Lola Francis, Jade Hayward, Maisie Amos, Jo Bishop, Seren Berathy, Esme Diment.
