9th November 2011LYME REGIS: Red Bull keen to return to Lyme
THERE’S a strong possibility that one of the highlights of this year’s Lyme Regis Lifeboat week – the Red Bull Harbour Reach – will be returning next year.
The spectacular event, in which participants skimmed across the water in the harbour using an overhead cable and leapt over the North Wall, attracted thousands to its Lyme Regis debut in July.
This week two representatives of Red Bull visited Lyme Regis and met Harbourmaster Grahame Forshaw to present a framed photograph of the event and to discuss hopes for a repeat next year.
Mr Forshaw said: ”They seemed very keen to come back and I am sure we would welcome them.”
Rob Michael, chairman of the RNLI Guild, which plans Lifeboat Week, said: ”I am sure we would be delighted to see them again. Many people found their display very exciting.”
Red Bull donated £3,000 to the RNLI following the event’s success.
