14th October 2011BEER: Dolphin makes a splash in Beer
EXCITED swimmers had the time of their lives on Saturday when a wild dolphin swam into the shores of Beer for some fun.
Local residents of all ages in Beer embraced the once in a lifetime opportunity, swimming, playing and even riding the dolphin, who has been fondly named George.
George has been spotted around Bournemouth and Weymouth, as well as off the coasts of France and the Channel Islands. However, the friendly dolphin spent the whole day in the bay of Beer enjoying the water and the human attention.
Annie Boalch, a Beer resident who swam with the dolphin, said: “It was magical and unbelievable to get the chance to swim with a real friendly dolphin. It was a fantastic opportunity for the younger Beer residents in particular.”
