12th October 2011BRIDPORT: Lions make egg-cellent donations
THE Lions Club of Bridport have made two egg-cellent donations following another successful Easter Egg draw.
The Bridport Lions raised in excess of £1,500 pounds with this year’s draw and the money has now been split between the Bopper Bus and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Lions President Don Morley presented a cheque for £750 to the air ambulance following a talk, by Annette Trapaud, at a recent dinner meeting.
Another cheque for £750 was presented by Lion John Lay-Flurrie to The Bopper Bus at Bridport Leisure Centre, to help with their £5,000 a year running costs.
The Bopper Bus offers the opportunity for children in surrounding villages to visit Bridport Leisure Centre on a Friday evening.
The Bridport Lions wished to thank all the pubs and other outlets for their support with the Easter Egg draw.
