GITTISHAM: Gittisham Church autumn fair raises cash for new roof

By Laura Goldsbury Noy

Members of Gittisham Church held their annual autumn fair and table top sale on Saturday, at the Mackarness Hall in Honiton and raised £420.

The fair was aimed at raising funds for the general upkeep of the church as well as the church’s main project - a new roof. The fair included bric-a-brac, homemade cakes and jams, book stalls, local produce and plant stalls, clothes and jewellery. There was also tea, coffee and refreshments on offer.
Carol McCann, church warden said: “We have been really lucky with the weather today and that has helped draw people to the fair. Overall it has been a great success and we have had plenty of people coming through the doors.

“We are always grateful for the money we manage to raise as the church is a large building to maintain and we are thankful to all those who came along to support us.”
