9th September 2011MERRIOTT: Cool new jackets will keep majorettes warm
MERRIOTT Silhouette Majorettes will be heading for South Petherton carnival this Saturday September 10th with new uniforms and new jackets thanks to a local sponsor.
Paul Wyeth ADI, who started his own driving school “Get the L Outta Here” about 18 months ago, has paid for the warm, lightweight and showerproof bomber jackets that are very welcome by the troupe of 37 who perform in all weathers throughout the carnival season.
Mr Wyeth’s partner Emma Martin helps with the running of the majorettes and daughter Laice is a member. They also live next door to the village hall where the troupe practice so he understands the hard work and commitment by the girls and was happy to rewards their efforts.
Troupe leader Juliet Mckelvey said the Silhouettes were very grateful to Mr Wyatt as keeping smart and uniform is an important part of being a majorette and sponsorship such as his was invaluable.
