14th October 2011CHARD: Chloe’s dad launches fundraising website
ANDREW Teague father of eight-year-old Chard girl Chloe, who was recently diagnosed with leukaemia has put put out a plea for support, not for themselves but to help other families facing illness.
Following an outpouring of support on the social network site Facebook, for his message in the sand to cheer up his daughter in hospital, Mr Teague said: “After seeing what amazing work charities like CLIC Sargent do for children like Chloe, and families like ours, I have decided to start a fundraising organisation. It will host events to raise funds which will be distributed between charities which have an involvement in Chloe’s treatment through her illness. I have decided to call the organisation “The Little Purple Kitty” .
“After all the support Chloe received through the internet, I have decided that the best place to launch the organisation is on Facebook. The Little Purple Kitty is going live, with a page which I will use to advertise all the events I organise, and where people can find the required information they need to pledge money to The Little Purple Kitty.”
The page can be found be searching the name, or by typing www.facebook.com/thelittlepurplekitty into your browser.
