AXMINSTER: Gammons Hill crash

ONE person was taken to hospital as a precaution after a four-vehicle accident on the A35 at Gammons Hill just outside Axminster. 

The accident happened at about 4.20pm on Saturday August 8th, and a spokesperson for the fire and rescue service said: “Two appliances, from Colyton and Axminster, were mobilised to a road traffic collision involving four vehicles on Gammons Hill. The heavy rescue tender was also mobilised to attend.  

“On arrival, crews found four cars involved, with one person still within one vehicle. 

“All persons were free and clear of the other three vehicles.”

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said that one person was taken to hospital in Exeter as a precaution.
