Vineyard launches fundraising Jurassic Coast themed red wine

Local vineyard and winery Furleigh Estate has teamed up with the Jurassic Coast Trust in recognition of its close links to the coast.

The award-winning winery will donate 10p from every bottle sold of its ‘Tyrannosaurus Red’ towards the Trust’s education and conservation projects.

To celebrate the new partnership, Furleigh Estate, based in Salway Ash, is holding an ‘Ammonites and Wine’ evening event on Saturday, August 29th.

It will feature a tour of the winery from owner Rebecca Hansford, an entertaining talk from Sam Rose, Jurassic Coast team leader, and a two-course meal accompanied by a selection of Furleigh Estate wines.

Tickets are available for £30 including a small donation to the trust.

Rebecca Hansford, owner of Furleigh Estate with her husband Ian, said: “After childhoods spent playing on the Jurassic Coast, we at Furleigh Estate thought it would be great to give something back to the Jurassic Coast Trust for future generations – now that our buckets and spades have long since been put away.

“In addition Furleigh Estate wines are grown and made less than five miles from the sea and our links with the coastline go back a long way.”

Funds raised from the partnership will go towards initiatives such as the Charmouth and Lyme Regis fossil warden, equipment for the Great Dorset Beach Clean and training days for local school teachers.

Guy Kerr, from the Jurassic Coast Trust, said: “It is fantastic to have the support of Furleigh Estate.

“Through these collaborations with prominent local businesses, we can grow and consolidate our Jurassic Coast community and raise much-needed funds to safeguard our world heritage site for future generations.”

Tickets for the evening can be purchased online by visitinghttps://billetto.co. uk/ammonitesandwineevening by calling Furleigh Estate on 01308 488991 or emailing [email protected]
