CREWKERNE: New deputy mayor

CREWKERNE has a new deputy mayor following the full council meeting on Monday, when Sylvia Allman was unanimously elected.

This will be her first time in the post. The position had become vacant after the previous deputy mayor, Sue White, resigned last month to care for her husband.

Councillor Angie Singleton took on the post of chairman of the amenities committee. She also took the vacancy on the staffing committee. 

Councillor Rusty Jackson volunteered to  be an additional cheque signatory.
