25th July 2012BRIDPORT: Maggie Reeday at 115 Club
115 Club, Bridport’s dedicated music & dinner venue last week enjoyed a fabulous performance of blues & jazz by the spectacular Edana Minghella, Mick Smith & Pete Maxfield. Edana’s voice was stunning, her presence enchanting, and the professional support of Mick Smith on Keyboard & Pete Maxfield on Double Bass made for an enthralling evening.
On Thursday, August 2nd, 115 Club have a wonderful duo of Maggie Reeday and Philip Clouts set to perform their combo of Jazz inspired by African & Latin influences. Beautiful jazz standards combined with Philip’s natural talent on the keyboard and Maggie’s gentle vocals are set to make a fabulous evening to enjoy.
Maggie is regarded as one of the countries finest vocalists, appearing on both TV & radio, with her “smokey” voice, lending itself perfectly to the blues & and more soulful jazz, should guarantee a fun evening of engaging music. Paired up with Philip Clouts an accomplished band leader & founding member of Zubop, that raised the roof at Ronnie Scotts. Clouts swings with rhythmic deliberation and a crystal sense of phrasing, setting a beautiful ivory accompaniment, using his roots to infuse the jazz standards with African & Latin moods.
Pre-booking for dinner between 7:00pm and 8:00pm is essential and guests should telephone on the day (between 2:00 and 6:00pm) to confirm numbers in their party. At which time they will be informed of the cover charge – anticipated at between £5 and £10 per guest. Unfortunately late-comers cannot be accommodated as dining must be completed before the music starts at about 9:00pm.
