WEST DORSET: Leaflets inserted without permission

IN recent weeks a leaflet has been inserted into some copies of the View from Weymouth & Portland and the View from Dorchester alleging “corruption and misconduct in public office in the council and the police”.

We wish to make it clear that these leaflets have not been inserted into our newspapers with our permission. 

The authorities are aware of this situation and the matter is being investigated.

Philip Evans, managing director of Devon, Dorset & Somerset Newspapers Ltd, publishers of the View, commented: “We have not given permission for these leaflets to be inserted into our titles and we wish to disassociate ourselves with the views expressed in them.”
