LYME REGIS: Children's poetry contest

LYME Regis ArtsFest and the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis will be holding their second children’s poetry competition for the WordFest event, scheduled to take place at the Marine Theatre on September 14th.

Last year, many young writers joined in the competition, with winners reading their poems at WordFest and other entries being displayed.

This year, as ArtsFest is part of the Jurassic Coast Earth Festival, the theme of the competition will be “What on Earth!”, which can be interpreted any way the child likes.

Entries should be typed and emailed to [email protected] or posted to The Old Pump House, Holyford Lane, Colyford, Devon EX24 6HW.

The competition will be split into three categories – age 7 and under, age 8-11 and age 12-16.

All entries must include the poet’s name, date of birth, address and contact number. Competitors will be invited to perform their poems at WordFest 2012 and the prizes will be awarded at this event.
