BEAMINSTER: Awards and reports at town's annual parish meeting

The town council’s annual parish meeting will be held tomorrow (Thursday).

The meeting will include reports by councillors, the town clerk and from representatives of projects within the town.

The first Beaminster Awards for Young People will also be presented by the chairman of Beaminster Council, Councillor Gilbert Berry at a ceremony during the meeting.

The awards were initiated by Paula Buxton, leader of Beaminster Youth Club and endorsed by the town council to recognise the voluntary contribution by young people to the community.

There will be an update on the Mountjoy/Beaminster School project by headteacher Mike Best, an initial progress report on the Beaminster Town Plan and a presentation on the proposed new War Memorial by chairman of the War Memorial Committee, Robin Musson.

The meeting will conclude with an opportunity for general discussion of matters raised by parishioners.

The meeting takes place in the Public Hall, Fleet Street at 7.30pm and is open all those whose name appears on the electoral register for Beaminster.
