9th March 2012HONITON NETBALL LEAGUE: Flamingos stand tall
At the end of a long season Flamingos remained the only unbeaten side in the Honiton Netball League when they completed the treble over Uplowman with a resounding 49-19 victory writes Graham Ingram.
Katie Marsh was their star whilst Sophie Cornish caught the eye for Uplowman.
The 100 per cent record made this the clearest cut victory for the title for many years with Flamingos finishing 10 points clear of second placed Wasps.
The other game of the evening in division one saw the two relegated sides, Hi Q and Bo-Peeps, up against one another.
Despite good play from Bev Hellyer it was the Peeps who took the points 31-19 thanks to a fine display from Faye Webb.
In Division Two the top four sides were all in action with first playing third and second against fourth.
Top side Weather Girls once again proved too strong for Howden’s Hawks winning 44-21.
Becky Green was in fine form for the Girls and Zoe Dunn played well for the Hawks.
