8th March 2012WEST DORSET: Calling all artists - charity needs new logo
Those with a talent for design are being asked to come up with a new logo for the Dorset Autistic Spectrum Condition Partnership Board.
The new umbrella organisation is made up of groups across Dorset working together to improve life for people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including Aspergers Syndrome.
It is believed that about 6,000 people across Dorset have Autism or Aspergers Syndrome.
Allyson Evans, who works at Dorset County Council, said: “The Partnership Board works to raise awareness of the condition and make sure that the people affected are involved in decisions that concern them.
“The board is made up of representatives from NHS Dorset, local authorities, voluntary organisations and adults with ASC and family carers, who work in partnership to improve services for people with Autism or Aspergers syndrome.
“This includes advice and assistance with regard to housing, jobs and care services, and generally ensuring that across Dorset, services are good and accessible for all.
“We are looking for a powerful yet easily reproduced logo to use in a range of publications and visual displays that will help raise awareness to give people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions a stronger voice across the county.”
The competition is open to all residents across Dorset and the Partnership Board will choose the best design in May, when the prize will be awarded to the winner.
Designs should be sent in as JPEG or PNG files and the original should be about A4 size.
The logo will be used in a much smaller size as well, so it also needs to look good when it is about 2cm square.
Finished designs can be emailed to [email protected] by April 30th.
