30th December 2011COLYTON: School opens logo design competition for annual race
COLYTON Grammar School will be organising a 5km and 10km race in 2012, which it hopes will become a popular annual event.
The school is now running a competition to design a logo for the race, which will be named the Colyton Rebel Run. The Parents’ Association (PA) is looking for a logo to use on its website, on posters and in other publicity materials.
The competition will be open until Monday, January 23rd and entries should be delivered to the school’s art department. The winner will be announced by January 31st.
Specifications for entries are as follows:
• The name can be included as part of the logo design. It should be shown as Colyton Rebel Run. However, once established the PA would like to make it just Rebel Run, so the design should consider this.
• “Rebel” is intended to make the historical link with Rebellion, so ideas on that theme would seem good - see the Colyton Parish History Society website, www.colytonhistory.co.uk, for some background.
• Since there will be both a 5km and 10km run, it shouldn’t show the distance in the logo.
• The logo should be suitable for use on the website, on posters and publicity material, possibly also for use on t-shirts and race prizes. It can be multi-coloured, but may also be printed in black and white.
• The competition is open to individuals and families. There will be a small prize, but we hope it will be reward enough for the winner to see their design used for the event for years to come.
• The PA will need to have all necessary rights to use the design now and in the future, so it has to be original and the winner gives the PA unrestricted use.
