30th December 2011SEATON: Swimmers take a dip on Boxing Day for charity
SEATON residents braved the chilly weather and dipped into the shores off Seaton beach for the annual Boxing Day swim.
Around 20 swimmers joined in the festivities this year and the group were well supported when a huge crowd gathered to watch the event.
Many took part in the swim to raise money for local and national charities, including Sandy Chapple who collected money for Uganda, where a friend from Crossroads Church in Seaton is doing missionary work.
Axminster Young Farmers were among those taking part and participate in the swim annually.
This year, the group braved the cold and raised money for Help for Heroes.
Several ladies also made the swim extra special when they came from Australia and swam in memory of a dear friend who lived in Seaton.
