LYME REGIS: New Year duck race
THE annual New Year’s Day duck race in Lyme Regis will take place at 12noon on January 1st. The race will start at Windsor Terrace and will finish at Jordan Flats in Mill Green, with proceeds going towards the Christmas Lights Committee.
The race should leave spectators plenty of time to head to the Rotary Club’s Lyme Lunge afterwards, which starts at 1pm on the main beach. Chairman of the Christmas Lights Committee, Councillor Barbara Austin, would like to say a huge thank you to those who attended a private party hosted by Lee Caddy and Lynette Ravenscroft at the Mariners Hotel last week and raised £200 through a raffle for the festive displays.
