UPLYME: Mrs Ethelston's experiment in the classroom

By Francesca Evans

STUDENTS at Mrs Ethelston’s Primary School in Uplyme had fun with science on Thursday, when they held a range of experiments and investigations in their classrooms.

Classes were mixed for the Science Curriculum Day so children of all ages could try the different activities together. Activities included experiments with bubbles, chromatography, balloons, household items including whipped cream and Rice Krispies, and the pupils also had a go at turning cream into butter by shaking it.

Head of teaching and learning, Mary-Anne Crafter, said: “We feel that the awe and wonder elements of science are vital to stimulate the pupils’ interests now and in the future for their education and enjoyment.”
