Hundreds of pounds was raised during a coffee morning in aid of the Royal British Legion’s 90th anniversary Poppy Appeal.
The coffee morning, at Sidford Social Hall, was a huge success after almost £700 was raised during the event on Saturday morning.
The coffee morning and fundraiser held and organised by members of the Sidbury and Sidford branch of the Royal British Legion was a busy event with hundreds of people coming through the door to support the Poppy Appeal.
As well as the usual refreshments, the event saw a range of stalls from second-hand books and bric-a-brac to homemade cakes and crafts, as well as a range of Royal British Legion merchandise for sale.
Beryl Kingman, a supporter and organiser of the event said: “We raised just over £689, which was an extremely good figure and we are really pleased with how successful the morning was.”
Branch Secretary Valerie Hull added: “The morning was extremely well supported and the branch wishes to thank all who supported and assisted with raising such a great total to add to the Legion’s 90th anniversary Poppy Appeal Fund.”
