3rd November 2011WEYMOUTH: Fun in the gardens for young witches and ghosts
By Jackie Evans
More than 100 children enjoyed a spooky treat at Greenhill Gardens on Saturday afternoon.
Witches, warlocks, ghouls, ghosts and pumpkins joined The Friends of the Greenhill Gardens for a special halloween themed afternoon of fun with wizard stories, a Count Duckula treasure hunt, tombola, fancy dress parade and goodie bags for all the children who had helped to paint and put up the funky fish at the far end of the garden.
Chairman Barbara Dubben, who was a witch for the day, said that the committee consisted of about 10 members. “These are beautiful gardens,” she said. “And our aim is to help them stay that way. But today is just a treat for the children. There is no fundraising involved.”
