BRIDPORT TENNIS: Alan and Caroline cash inALAN and Caroline Cash won a closely fought battle to take the Bridport Tennis Club annual open tennis tournament. In the final they beat Rhose Lawes and Cliff Moreton 6-4 to take the title.
Following a round robin involving players from Bridport, Weymouth and Melcombe Regis, Glenda and Adam Fraser won through to play Lawes & Moreton in the first semi-final with the latter pair winning 6-4.
The other semi saw two Bridport pairs of Cash & Cash take on Amy Nicholson & Sanjay Choudhory who took a 4-1 lead with their hard hitting and good placement.
The Cashs fought back to level at 4-4 but found themselves 6-5 and match point down.
However they saved match point before their consistency and experience saw them take the match.
