14th October 2011COLYTON: Students busk for children's centre
By student reporter
STUDENTS from Colyton Grammar School spent their lunchtimes last week busking in the playground to raise funds for Honeylands Children’s Centre in Exeter.
The fundraising event was called “Busk-it Week” and was organised by the tutor group 9 Ash. Students from across the school took part, with performances ranging from instrumental groups to solo singers.
Izzie from 9 Ash said: “My mum is one of the music therapists at Honeylands and we wanted to support their worthwhile cause. I was surprised and really pleased at how many people took part”.
Honeylands Children’s Centre is an NHS Centre for young children with complex special needs, which offers a unique service to families from the Exeter, East and Mid Devon areas. In total the students raised £117.84 for the charity.
