14th October 2011ILMINSTER: Garden inspiration from Eden Project
GREEN fingered residents have once more come to the fore in the Yarlington Housing Group’s garden competition ceremony.
A captivated audience was engrossed by the Eden Project’s lead architect, Michael Pawlyn, who made the presentations after he addressed the 150 members at the Yarlington Housing Group residents’ day.
The prestigious Yarlington cup for the best road/sheltered scheme went to Ile Court, Ilminster (Area South). The winner of the children’s colouring competition went to seven year old Sapphire Obern from Stonesfield, Haselbury Plucknett.
A total of 98 entries across eight classes had been judged throughout the summer, and the very high standard made judging extremely difficult.
Organiser Ann Cruse commented : “Once again we have had an exceptional number of high quality entries and the judges have had real deliberation in choosing the winners. It was a fitting tribute to the residents’ efforts that we had a guest of Mr Pawlyn’s stature to present the awards.î
