PORTLAND: History man up for an award

RESPECTED local historian Stuart Morris has had his video of Portland shortlisted for an award.

Mr Morris told the View that he was “shocked” to discover that his entry in the British Coast Guide video had been shortlisted among the best five in the country.

He added: “I came across the British Coast Guide website and saw their competition.

“I thought this would be an opportunity to make use of an assortment of videos I have taken over the past year or so and decided to enter.

“I edited together many very short clips showing different and very contrasting aspects of Portland and I tried to convey the atmosphere and natural feel of the Island, not easy in a five-minute video.

“I am very chuffed to find that it has made the shortlist top five. The winner will be decided on public votes with voting ending on October 31st.”
