WEYMOUTH: A bumper harvest of chips!

CHIPS were munched just minutes after being potatoes in the ground when Weymouth’s Chapelhay Community Playgraden held its second annual harvest.

Playgarden chairman Clare Sutton said: “We planted the potatoes in March and now we have reaped the rewards of all our efforts.”

The harvest was a community effort with some children and adults digging up the potatoes and others washing them before they were hauled off to the Ocean Hay takeaway where owner Pete Chen kindly turned them into chips and cooked them.

Clare said: “You can’t get much fresher chips than that!”
