30th September 2011HONITION GOLF: Round-up
HONITON with Andy Wagner
Monthly Stableford
This month's Stableford resulted in some surprisingly meagre scores writes Andy Wagner.
Those devilish cross winds can account for some of the low scoring but it's a rare weekend that sees only one player beat par.
Step forward Steven Key in Division 2 who bore down on the conditions, and the course, to record a very respectable 39pts, five more than second place Neil Pulman's 34 and seven better than third placed Pete Sibley.
The Division 1 scores displayed a similar war of attrition. If Bob Cleal can't break par then conditions must have been tough. His 34pts just sneaked first place on count back ahead of Keith Lloyd with Will Pollack third with 32.
