22nd September 2011DORCHESTER: Weldmar bingo another success
Hard working as ever, Dot Hand once again rallied her smiling band of sunflowers to organise yet another successful Big Prize Bingo in the Corn Exchange, Dorchester, in aid of the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
A wonderful array of prizes greeted those who turned up to try their luck as the numbers rolled, all beautifully presented and generously donated by local businesses and individuals.
There were two raffles, one for an amazing handmade quilt and another for a variety of goodies.
The caller was Wendy Biles, charged with keeping the packed hall under control and the evening flowing without a hitch.
Dot and her friends put a great deal of effort into putting on these bingo nights and the good people of Dorchester repay her kindness by turning out again and again to have a go at winning one of the fabulous prizes whilst having a great deal of fun.
A superb sum was raised for the Weldmar, with £960 going to the charity.
Dot’s next event will be a Christmas Coffee Morning to be held on Saturday, November 5th in the United Church Hall, Dorchester, from 10am until 12 noon. Entrance will be 50p to include coffee and a mince pie. There will be a Big Draw, tombola, homemade cakes, charity Christmas cards and much more.
