10th August 2011LYME REGIS: Woodroffe reunion
FORMER Woodroffe School students from overseas, including the USA, will be attending a reunion on Saturday, October 15th.
Former pupils of the old Lyme Regis Grammar School and Woodroffe will be allowed to bring partners to the gathering for the first time. Added incentives include the gift of a commemorative mug and entry into a free draw for a holiday voucher for £250.
Organised by the Woodroffe Association, non-members will be allowed to sign up on the night, and all former students are invited to attend with two photographs – one taken during their school years and a current image. The reunion will also feature an exhibition of memorabilia.
The big night, starting at 7.30pm, will be preceded by an afternoon gathering of former members of the much acclaimed school madrigal group, which won honours all over the country and abroad.
A church service will be held at the school, starting at 10am on Sunday, October 16th and this will be followed by a conducted tour of the school.
Chairman of the association, Jon Broome, said he was expecting lots of former students from abroad but also hope the event would be supported by those living closer to home.
