LYME REGIS: It's down to us!

Townspeople urged to get dialling to win £60,000 for The Hub

by Philip Evans

GET dialling and help The Hub youth club win £60,000.

This is the message that is going out loud and clear to all people living in Lyme Regis as The Hub attempts to secure a financial windfall in the Jubilee People’s Millions.

The plea is being back by all sections of the community, including Lyme Regis Town Council.

Newly-elected Mayor Sally Holman told the View: “The Hub project has caught the imagination of all sections of the community.

“And now every resident in Lyme Regis can help to win the £60,000 on offer in this unique Lottery promotion to mark the Queen’s  Diamond Jubilee.

“The voting number will not be released until 9 am on Tuesday (June 28th) and I urge everyone in the town to find out what that number is and to phone. It will only cost 11p a call from a landline.

“The public can vote up to ten times from every phone they can access. It’s a simple but effective way of showing your support for The Hub - and the end result could be a magnificent £60,000 windfall.

“I have been really impressed how The Hub hascaught the imagination of all and sundry in Lyme. It’s one of the most exciting developments in our community for a very long time and the £60,000 could play a huge part in getting the youth club open as soon as possible.

“Please get dialling for The Hub and demonstrate that our young people have the full support of the town.”

The Hub has been pitched against Portland Gig Club by the People’s

Millions and the organisers say that it may be necessary to secure as many as 10,000 calls to win the £60,000.

The Hub will be recruiting dozens of volunteers on Tuesday to distribute the nuber and urge people to call the voting line.

In a bid to promote the campaign the Woodroffe School organised a world record attempt on the biggest number of people singing “Frere Jacque” on the Cobb on Sunday morning.
