12th May 2011DORCHESTER: New charity lottery launched
TWO LOCAL organisations, Dorchester Town Supporter’s Trust and Dorchester Round Table, are working in partnership to launch a new lottery called ‘Dorchester Lottery’.
The monthly lottery, which will see its inaugural draw take place on Wednesday, June 29th, is aimed at enriching the local community by raising funds for good causes.
The lottery will see half of all money raised going into the prize fund, with the remainder split equally between local good causes, distributed by the two organisations.
The Supporters Trust is an independent not for profit organisation that exists to protect the long term future of the local football club and to forge closer links between the football club and the community it serves.
Trust secretary Dave Ring said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the lottery after many months of planning.
“It has huge potential and will benefit a number of good causes and charities locally, as funds will be distributed by the Dorchester Round Table. Of course the larger the number of participants, the larger those distributions will be.
“The lottery will also support the aims and objectives of the Supporters Trust, working to bring the football club and the local community closer together.”
