The nominations also confirmed that three town councillors will not be seeking re-election, former leader of the town council, Councillor Charles Wild (Independent), Councillor Mark Parsons (Lib Dem) and Councillor Roger Stoodley (Conservative).
In the town council elections the North Ward will have 14 candidates, including six current councillors, fighting it out for nine seats.

Current Councillors in the South Ward include Bridport Mayor Councillor Geoffrey Ackerman, Leader of the Town Council, Councillor Dave Rickard, Bridport Conservatives Chairman, Councillor Keith Day and Independent Councillor David Tett.
