BRIDPORT manager Trevor Senior was satisfied that his team were never in any danger of losing against Wessex League Division One Andover New Street side in last Saturday’s 6-3 F A Vase tie, but felt they had not been ruthless enough.

STRANGE to say but, of the eight clubs I cover, only one, Dorchester had a home game on Saturday last. As I had watched them just two weeks ago I did not feel that I could inflict my presence on them twice in such a short space of time, and therefore decided to make the short journey to Yeovil, and to take in Bridport's game at Ivel.

BEAMINSTER Ladies hockey team began the new season with a comfortable win over Bournemouth 4th’s with Izzy Davies opening her first team account with a hat-trick after doing likewise in the club’s 2nd XI opener last week.

SOMERSET RUGBY: Crewkerne’s Harper breaks arm AS all but one of the clubs in my "flock" were playing away from home on Saturday last, I took myself over to Yeovil to watch the Ivel Barbarians take on Bridport, whom they bested by 24-10 after a game that did not reach spectacular heights as regards quality.
